The Elder Futhark is the oldest known runic alphabet, used by Germanic peoples from roughly the 2nd to 8th centuries CE. Its name comes from the first six runes: F-U-Th-A-R-K. The 24 runes are divided into three groups of eight called aetts (families). Each rune is more than a letter — it carries a deep symbolic meaning, a force in the world, and a lesson for those who seek to understand it.
